Low Water

You are the relief keeper sent to a lighthouse whose three men are gone, and something climbs the rock in the dark that only the turning beam holds down.

How to start

  1. Open your AI. Start a new chat in ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini. Late, and alone, if you can manage it.
  2. Paste the starter. The relief boat sets you on the rock at dusk. The lamp is cold and the keepers' boots stand by the door.
  3. Keep the light. Ration the oil, wind the beam, and read the log. Two watches of oil in the lamp, five charges in the store below — seven in all, and just enough if you waste none.
  4. Save your watch. Take a save code when you stop. Paste it into any AI later to resume the same night on the rock.

Questions

What kind of horror is this?
Slow, atmospheric lighthouse horror. You relieve an offshore light and find the keepers gone. You spend the night keeping the lamp lit and the beam turning while something climbs the rock. The dread builds through isolation, a falling barometer, and voices on the stair, not through gore.
How is it different from the other horror card, Vigil: White Static?
Different setting and different engine. Vigil is analog tape horror paced by a printed dice tape. Low Water is a lighthouse siege you run with no dice; how you ration the oil, wind the beam, and refuse the voices is the whole game. The danger rises as the tide falls and whenever you slip, and it drops back when you hold the light and do not answer.
Can I lose, and can I win?
Both are reachable. Keep the light burning to first light and you live. Let the oil run out, let the beam stop, or go down the stair to answer the voices and it takes you. There is no unavoidable death and no dead end. Careful rationing and refusing the offers is a winnable night.
Can I stop if it gets to be too much?
Yes. Say "stand down" at any point and the watch ends safely with no final scare. The AI honors any limit you set. Low Water runs in ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini, and a save code lets you break off and finish the watch later.
